WHY YOU MUST JUST LIMIT YOUR TIME ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Current generation has been influenced by social media brought about by innovations in technology. We appreciate the technology yes, but you must ask yourself, is this technology making me spend less time on important things and put social media upfront? If that’s your case, you must just put social media under parental control and the following are the reasons why that has to happen:-

v      Social media will cause your happiness to depend on others. It will make you to have a mindset of looking for opinion from people you even do not know. For instance you upload a photo, looking just fine and you get only twenty or ten likes while your friends do have hundreds of likes, for most people it will make them feel less loved. This should not be the case; let love come from people around you and your friends in real life not by likes which comes from people who you do not even know.

v      With social media, moving forward at times can be difficult. Memories that are gone and should be forgotten about come back through this venue. Whenever you see your enemy post about anything good and at one time he did a regrettable thing in your life, that’s the moment when you begin bringing back those memories to yourself or your ex posts a beautiful photo with his new catch, having a wonderful time, you regret why you left him. Also it makes us not just go n with our real life especially when you see your friends post how they are having fun and you are just there, no one invites you over.

v      Becoming self focused is very essential for you to achieve a lot in life. Sadly social media can make you lose focus on yourself. It makes you be bombarded by other people’s achievements. When someone uploads his photos about his lifestyle let me say his car, makes another person regret about his lifestyle, asking himself why they do not deserve to be like that other flashy person. This really increases feelings of anxiety and loss of self-esteem.

v      It keeps us from reality such that once we see someone better than us on social media we tend to change our lifestyle too because of just someone who you do not even know about. At most instances, someone’s life in social media can look better than his real life. You will find someone dressing expensively and looks beautiful in social media but in reality the person borrowed the outfit and their life is so pathetic.

v      Have you ever found yourself in a moment where you are in an important event that you paid for but you remember you haven’t yet checked on the trending tweets so you go to your phone and later on realize that you missed a great part of the meeting? Surely this happens; social media has become a great distracter as far as concentration on what’s happening in our environment is concerned. It is easy to find that friend who spends more time checking on their social media updates than actually concentrating on the moment.

v      Social media does not allow you to engage with your friends in the required manner. For a real friendship life one should rarely use social media for interaction. Instead of chatting (which most of us prefer doing), and posting, we must get to interact with others outside social media, that is, in real life and have time spent together. Engage in interacting in social media when the friends are far and it should be minimal as possible. Even if your friends stay far, pay them those frequent visits.

Generally social media is a place full of life wasters, fakers and every sort of people. Avoid social media so as to avoid these kinds of people. Remember there is a beautiful world outside social media. Get to explore it!
